His 2015 album Cherry Bomb featured a greater focus on melody and jazz-fused sounds which has continued throughout his later discography. Beginning with his second album Wolf (2013), Okonma began moving away from his stylistic horrorcore towards a more alternative hip hop sound. His debut studio album Goblin (2011), brought him mainstream exposure aided by the popularity of the single " Yonkers" and its accompanying music video during this period Odd Future gained rapid popularity and Okonma faced controversy over his lyrics. Okonma self-released his debut mixtape Bastard in 2009 and rapidly gained attention among the online music press for his horrorcore-influenced sound and violent, transgressive lyrical content. He is one of the founding members of the music collective Odd Future. And it was rap that racist white kids liked.Tyler Gregory Okonma (born March 6, 1991), professionally known as Tyler, the Creator, is an American rapper and record producer. The dude could always rap, he was just psychotic. Then Tyler comes out with Flower Boy and stuff and people just start to place him on a pedestal. If you look at TTC’s musical direction after, as well as Earl’s they began to stop with the disturbing lyrics and content. They couldn’t keep a lot of that weird stuff going when Frank got popular and came out as bisexual because it didn’t fit with the brand. People that are younger than 27 particularly may not remember but I use that specific age and age group because we saw first hand the rebrand. He and Tyler were both very talented but Tyler was rapping about raping people, very horror core content off the strength of Eminem x 100. Earl’s rebrand has been funny because of how rdidiculius some of his earliest raps were. OFWGTKA in itself was a collection of weirdos. Here is the thing with this guy: people hear one interview of his and they’re praising him but if you are a Black woman between ages 27-31, you would SPECIFICALLY have to have remembered all of the violently colorist, anti-Black (particularly towards girls and women) sentiments he had.
